Nakuru-based Businessman Maina Wakabura has differed with Judiciary Staff Associations move to suspend services.
In a statement to Newsrooms on Tuesday June 18, Wakabura noted that every life matters.
According to him, the pronouncement by Judiciary Staff Associations of not providing their services to the Public from June 19 to June 21, 2024 after the unfortunate shooting incident at the Makadara Law Courts should be re-looked at.
He pointed out that their plea for enhanced security has reached the ears of the concerned officers and they should not escalate the issue further since innocent members of the Public seeking essential Judicial services will be negatively affected.
“Articles 48,49 & 50 of the Kenyan Constitution provide access to Justice and are a crucial component of the Kenyan Constitution that embodies the principles of justice, fairness, and the rule of law thus essential services should not be interrupted,” he stated.
Wakabura called on the Judiciary staff to think of other ways of delivering services in a better way adding that they can resort to virtual hearings which have been effective and efficient, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
