The ICC should open a case against President William Ruto and the police officers responsible for the heinous killing of hundreds of Gen Zs during the peaceful demonstrations held.
Unionist Dr Isaac Newton Kinity says this will help ensure justice for the families that lost their loved ones.
At the same time, he says great care should be taken to prevent interference with witnesses once the case is launched.
Similar sentiments were echoed by connecticut Senator Chris Murphy, who was visiting Kenya recently.
The Senator demanded for the arrest and the prosecution of the Kenya police involved with the killing of hundreds of the Kenya youth during the last two months demonstrations.
But Dr.Kinity says the visiting Senator fell short of calling for the opening of a case against President Ruto at the ICC.
According to Kinity, during the peaceful demonstrations, very many Kenyans were killed while others were abducted, and their whereabouts are unknown.
He has faulted President Ruto for refering to the demonstrating youth as criminals.
“The Kenya constitution is very clear about demonstrations and picketing in Kenya. As the USA pressures for the arrest and the prosecution of the trigger happy police officers whose pictures and videos were taken during the demonstrations, as the police killed the innocent Gen Zs, the ICC should prepare to start a case against William Ruto,” he stated.
Dr. Kinity is also advising that, “this time, the underpaid Kenya army should help in preventing the police from being used in the killing of the witnesses as happened after the 2008 post election violence case that was started at the ICC.
The Unionist has urged USA and other powerful nations should also join in preventing the killing of the witnesses after the ICC starts its case against those responsible for killing the Gen Zs.
He says, this is a path towards end to corruption and that those involved in corruption cases should not be allowed to contest in any elections in Kenya.
“This is a path to ending corruption and extra judicial killings in Kenya,” he stated.
