Nakuru enters into MoU with Hello Tractor, Mauka Co-operative Society to boost small scale farmers

The County Government of Nakuru has entered into an Memorandum of Understanding with Hello Tractor and Mauka Co-operative Society aimed at boosting small-scale farmers.

The MoU will improve the mechanization of small-scale farmers to enhance productivity and profitability.

Hello Tractor- a technology-driven company empowers farmers, boosts their income, enhances food security, and improves efficiency and resilience through mechanized farming technology.

Hello Tractor Mechanization Hub is located at Mauka Cooperative Society in Mauche Ward, Njoro Sub-county, and will be a game-changer for smallholder farmers offering them access to modern mechanized farming equipment at reduced rates.

According to Agriculture CECM Leonard Bor,  the MoU promotes public-private partnership and the project will play a role in increasing smallholder farmers’ agricultural productivity, resulting in more yields, and higher revenues for farmers.

Partnerships Lead at Hello Tractor, Quinta Onditi appreciated the partnership.

“We are very grateful for this partnership that will see the project engage and empower the local farming community in the county,” she stated.

Also present was Chief Officer Cooperatives Kibet Kurgat and Director for Agriculture Charles Githiri.
