Bodaboda Saccos in Nakuru are among many saccos that are set to benefit from County Cooperative Revolving Fund.
Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika says this is in line with her agenda to empower young people.
She spoke in Friday July 19, 2024 when she met with the Nakuru County Cooperative Revolving Fund Board members led by chairman, Mr Hillary Korir, to discuss how the funds will be disbursed to the target groups.
Kihika emphasized the importance of the Cooperative Fund to Saccos in Nakuru County and urged the board members to work out modalities to ensure all Saccos, including the boda boda Saccos benefit from affordable loans whose interest is 6 per cent.
The Governor assured that she will soon hold meetings with various target saccos to get their input on modalities of disbursement.
“I will hold sector meetings with target Saccos to get their input on how best we can disburse loans for their benefit, beginning with the boda boda Saccos such as qualifications and repayment terms,” she stated.
The Cooperative Revolving Fund and the Nakuru County Enterprise Fund will reach groups in all 55 Wards across the County.
“This aligns with my pledge to help Saccos, small and medium businesses, Mama Mbogas and boda boda riders access affordable loans to grow their business,” added Kihika.
