Kihika assures residents of Kuresoi North, Kuresoi South of benefits from Itare Dam

Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has assured residents of Kuresoi South and Kuresoi North sub-counties of government’s support.

Kihika says the two sub counties will be connected to Itare Dam to enable them access clean water.

According to Kihika, already Sh 1 billion has been set aside towards the same.

Governor Kihika was speaking on Monday July 15, 2024 when she joined day joined President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua during the laying of the foundation stone for the Keringet Market, at Keringet ward, Kuresoi South Sub-County.

The sh50 million market under the Economic Stimulus Program by the National Government, in collaboration with the County Government will be equipped with fresh produce storage, cold rooms and other amenities to empower traders and farmers in the area.

In his remarks, President Ruto said, Nakuru County will benefit from 18 modern markets across all the Sub-Counties to help farmers to market their produce.

The Government will also continue with the fertilizer subsidy program to help farmers produce more food and lower the cost of living.

The event was also graced by Dr. Festus Ng’eno, Principal Secretary for Environment and climate change, Deputy Governor David Kones, MPs from Nakuru County, MCAs and Nakuru County officials.
