Enhanced security at Alms House following completion of Perimeter wall, gate

The Nakuru Alms House commonly known as Nyumba ya wazee among locals has received a major facelift that will see enhanced security.

The construction of Perimeter wall and a gate will enhance security at the facility that houses the elderly.

The handing over of the completed perimeter wall and gate project at the facility took place on Monday May 27, 2024.

Nakuru County Chief Officer Gender, Social Services and inclusivity Gladys Kamuren who graced the event was impressed by the work done by the contractor.

Speaking after inspecting the project, Kamuren said it will go a long way in ensuring security for the senior citizen.

“The County Government of Nakuru under leadership of Governor Susan Kihika is committed towards the welfare of our senior citizens and that’s why we were very much concerned about this project that will see our elderly secured while at the Alms House,” she said.

Kamuren also lauded the contractor and Project Management committee members for good working relationship.

Sentiments echoed by area MCA Neto Sakwa who was represented by his Personal Assistant Charles Okumu.

The MCA’s office lauded the contractor for considering the locals through casual jobs during the project.

The project was implemented under the County Headquarter’s Budget.

The handing over was also attended by Ward Administrator Rahab Njuguna, Governor Mashinani Representative Amadi Kahero, Contractor and PMC members.
