Collaboration among leaders key in mitigating floods’ effects, says MP Arama

Nakuru Town West Member of Parliament Samuel Arama has reiterated the need for collaboration among all leaders in mitigating the devastating effects of floods.

Arama said this will go along way in ensuring all persons affected by the floods are assisted.

He was speaking when he together with officials from the county government of Nakuru led by County Secretary Samuel Mwaura visited parts of Nakuru West to assess the situation on the ground following the ongoing heavy downpour.

The Lawmaker thanked the County Government under the leadership of Governor Susan Kihika for efforts put in place towards disaster management.

He also used the opportunity to urge residents to be on alert and report any effects of the heavy downpour so that action can be taken.

“This is not time to politic, but time for leaders to work together in assisting those affected by the floods,” stated Arama.

Sentiments echoed by Nakuru County Secretary Samuel Mwaura who reiterated Governor Kihika’s commitment towards assisting all families that are affected by the ongoing heavy downpour.

Mwaura urged residents to work closely with the government in mitigating the devastating effects of the rains.

This, even as National Government has announced the postponed opening of schools.

President William Ruto made the announcement on Friday afternoon citing the ongoing heavy downpour across the country.
