Nakuru County Government remains committed towards improving the welfare of senior citizens.
County Executive Committee Member for Youth, Sports, Gender and Social Services Josephine Atieno made the assurance when she visited Alms House in Kivumbini Ward that houses senior citizens.
During the visit, the CECM inspected the facility that has undergone several facelift with the recent being the construction of Perimeter wall and modern gate.
The Alms House currently cares for thirteen elders, comprising ten men and three women, who receive social care from the County Government of Nakuru.
Ms. Atieno reassured the elders about their well-being and the Governor’s commitment in supporting them throughout.
“I want to assure you that the county government under the leadership of Governor Susan Kihika is committed towards welfare of senior citizens,” she stated.
The CECM commended the officers in charge for their excellent work.
Also present were Joel Bii, Community Development Officer and other social services officials.
