Veteran Journalist Professor Ngugi Njoroge was on Wednesday August 7, 2024 laid to rest at his Ngamini village home in Waseges Ward, Subukia sub county of Nakuru County.
Thousands of mourners joined the family of the late Professor Ngugi Njoroge to celebrate his life after an untimely death due to short illness. at his village home in Ngamini.
During the burial, Nakuru l Governor Susan Kihika was represented by County Executive for Lands, Physical Planning, Housing and Urban Development John Kihagi.
He acknowledged the late Professor as a man of integrity and who on numerous occasions committed his time and resources for the welfare of the people.
The CECM described the late professor as a man of the people, and a servant leader who cared for his community.

The late Professor Ngugi Njoroge was celebrated as a nationalist, a journalist, an educator, and a leader among many.
He has mentored many journalists, broadcasters and even editors at Royal Media Services and beyond.

Addressing mourners, Gathoni wa Muchomba, a former journalist and broadcaster, now the current Githunguri Member of Parliament expressed her gratitude to her mentor, and reminisced the pleasure she had working with Professor.
Subukia MP Samuel Gachobe who was also present, reiterated the leadership value that the Professor has exuded, both as a journalist and as a community leader.
Also, his love for education and empowering others through training, mentoring, and guidance was eminent among the guest speakers of the ceremony.
The burial ceremony was also attended by Former Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management Moses Kuria, Gilgil MP Martha Wangari, Naivasha MP Jane Kihara, among others.
