Former Civil Servants Union Secretary General Dr. Isaac Newton Kinity has maintained that corruption is the main problem facing Kenya.
Kinity who resides in United States of America has been vocal on national issues in the country.
In a recent interview with Radio Vuna FM, Dr. Kinity has hit out at President William Ruto over what he termed empty promises to Kenyans.
Touching on the recent cabinet reshuffle, Dr. Kinity noted that President Ruto did the reshuffle not in the interest of Kenyans, but just an attempt to calm Generation Z-led peaceful demonstrations.
According to Dr. Kinity, President Ruto used the reshuffle as an avenue to re-introduce his former allies.
He faulted the President for the move arguing that the said individuals some of whom have allegedly been involved in corrupt practices.
The former Unionist says Kenyans should not allow to be calmed with theatrics.
“The current regime up their game and help address issues of corruption that have continued to derail development,” he stated.
He noted that with the harsh economic times, Kenyans are fed up with empty promises but rather need tangible working solutions.
And with the new disease Monkey Pox now around with some cases already reported in the country, Dr. Kinity said this will be disaster as it is coming at a time when the country is facing a lot of challenges in the health sector.
“Mpox is a tragedy in itself especially when you look at the health sector and the challenges that are as a result of corrupt systems,” he said.
The former Unionist also took an issue with Kenya National Union of Teachers(KNUT) for trying to evade the real issues in the education sector.
He pointed out that by KNUT and Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers(KUPPET) should not allow to be compromised by the who is who in the country, rather they should continue pushing for better education sector.
On the issue of Generation Z who were killed during the peaceful demonstrations, Dr Kinity said justice shall be served when the culprits behind the killings are brought to book.
He backed the call to have cases launched at either East African Court or the International Criminal Court.
Meanwhile, Dr Kinity has also supported the move for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to contests the Chairmanship of African Union.
Kinity views this as an opportunity for liberation of Kenya from social injustices.
“Raila has a legacy that I believe he fits the position. It will help Kenya as well as liberate Africa from corruption and other injustices,” he said.
