Njoro Member of Parliament Charity Kathambi has lauded President William Ruto’s agenda on empowering farmers at grassroot level.
Kathambi stated that the move will go a long way in ensuring food security in the country.
She spoke when she joined Nakuru county residents and other leaders in celebrating the 61st anniversary of Madaraka Day at Mau Narok Primary School, in Mau Narok ward.
“As a nation, we are proud to celebrate our diverse cultures and formations,” stated Kathambi.
According to the Lawmaker, Njoro constituency being an agricultural constituency, the move by President is key to the farmers in the area.
Kathambi was reacting to President Ruto’s commitment in his address ( Read by Nakuru County commissioner Loyford Kibaara) to support farmers’ efforts to enhance food security in the region and nationally.
She added that the technology-based agribusiness initiative launched is a significant milestone, complementing fertilizer subsidies aimed at creating a food security in this nation.
“As we celebrate 61 years of self-rule, the emphasis on Agriculture and Food Security underscores our ongoing journey towards self-reliance and prosperity,” stated Kathambi.
