The Government has announced the resumption of Itare Dam construction.
Government Spokesperson Dr.Isaac Mwaura says the Project that had stalled, will resume October, 2024.
The Government Spokesperson said this promises significant boost to Nakuru County’s Water supply.
Itare Dam project in Kuresoi North Sub-County stalled after corruption issues were raised.
Mwaura was speaking on Monday May 21, 2014 during a tour of the project.
While addressing residents living near the Itare dam noted that, issues that had impeded the projects’ progress have now been resolved.
Once operational, the dam is expected to supply 100 million litres of water daily, effectively addressing the water needs of the county’s residents.
Dr. Mwaura together with his team are on a 5-day community and media engagement tour on National government initiated projects.
Also present were County Executives, Leonard Bor (Agriculture), Chief Officer Margaret Kinyanjui (Water), among other County Officials.
