Bahati Constituents in Nakuru County have been lauded for their effort towards flood mitigation.
Area MP Irene Njoki says proactive residents have taken it upon themselves to unclog culverts, drainage and waterways.
“I am grateful to the proactive residents who have taken it upon themselves to unclog culverts, drainages, and waterways. Their involvement is invaluable in ensuring the effectiveness of our flood mitigation efforts,” she stated.
This even as in an effort to reduce flood damage, construction of a stone-pitched drainage system along part of the Scode-tumsifu-posta road is nearly complete.
According to the Lawmaker, these drainage systems aim to mitigate the impact of floods on properties along that stretch of road.
She added that once the rains subside, the road will be graded and murramed to facilitate movement and enhance access to essential services for residents in the area.
